If you complete an online form to request your test results, the surgery may respond by text message or telephone. Sometimes, the GP asks the receptionist to book an appointment to discuss test results. If this is the case the surgery will contact you with an appointment.
If you are calling the surgery to request test results, the receptionist will be able to advise if the results are back and if the GP has commented on them. Sometimes, the receptionist will recommend you book a telephone call with the GP to discuss the results.
Please be aware that not all test results will automatically come back to your GP. If you have had a test done at the hospital at the request of your Consultant, you should call the hospital directly for the result as we are unlikely to receive it straight away.
Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them.
