Appointments

Many GP practices will be closed this bank holiday. But if you need urgent medical help, GP appointments are available.

Remember, you can visit your local pharmacy for many minor problems like insect bites, cold and flu symptoms and sickness. If you are unsure if your problem is urgent, please contact NHS 111 online, go to 111.nhs.uk or dial 111 who can advise you.

If you need urgent dental treatment over the bank holiday, contact your usual dentist. If you can’t or don’t have one, use NHS 111 Online. If an urgent appointment is needed you will be provided with details of your local out of hours service.

Medications

Make sure your order your medications in time for this bank holiday.

As a general rule of thumb you should always order at least 4 working days before you run out. This gives your GP surgery 2 working days to process your request and 2 working days for your pharmacy to get everything ready for you.

To prevent any unnecessary stress make sure you order your medications with plenty of time to spare.

Remember, many local pharmacies will also have different working hours during the bank holiday. For a list of local pharmacies and opening hours this bank holiday please visit The Black Country ICB website here.
